This week, we were tasked with assisting in the creation of the IHOMIS Plus manual. Our team worked together to compile necessary documentation, ensuring that the manual was detailed, comprehensive, and user-friendly.

We carefully structured the content to include system functionalities, step-by-step instructions, and troubleshooting guidelines. This task allowed us to gain deeper insights into the IHOMIS Plus system and understand its intricate workflows, reinforcing our knowledge of system documentation and technical writing.





Throughout the week, we engaged in discussions to refine the manual’s content and improve its clarity. We collaborated with the team to verify system processes and ensure that the manual aligned with actual system operations. Our mentors provided valuable feedback, guiding us in making the document more effective for end users. This experience highlighted the importance of technical documentation in system implementation and maintenance.

Overall, this week was a valuable learning experience as we enhanced our technical writing skills and contributed to a project that will aid future users of IHOMIS Plus. The challenge of creating a well-structured manual required attention to detail, teamwork, and a thorough understanding of the system, all of which helped us develop essential skills for our future careers.

Preparing for the iHOMIS Plus Transition: A Week of Hardware Assessment and Planning

Our week started with a meeting. The HOMIS team, led by Ma’am Annie, gathered for a brief discussion. The hospital is planning a major transition—from a locally based system to a web-based platform called iHOMIS Plus . This shift is a big change, as iHOMIS is managed by the Department of Health (DOH), and moving to the new system could be challenging, especially if the hospital’s existing hardware is outdated and incapable of handling the upgrade. With this in mind, our primary task for the week was to conduct a hardware assessment across all hospital departments. We needed to check the PCs and laptops currently in use, count the number of users , and assess whether additional hardware or upgrades would be necessary to accommodate the new system. This process involved a lot of cross-checking with the actual system to ensure the instructions were clear and practical.
